Say 'Hello' to Dr. Katie Macken
Katie Macken grew up in Chesapeake City, Maryland, received her BA in Biology from Towson University and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland-Baltimore Dental School…the oldest Dental School in the world! She continued her dental education at the General Practice Residency Program at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut and after completing her training, she began practicing in Connecticut.
Dr. Macken lived and practiced in Connecticut until she and her husband decided to relocate to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2013 before getting married and starting a family. She practiced in uptown Charlotte and Belmont, North Carolina for eight years before founding Orchard Grove Family Dentistry in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
Dr. Macken’s vision for the practice is centered around providing high-quality dental care with no judgment and full transparency, in a space that is intentionally designed to reduce anxiety. Dr. Macken wants her patients to understand their options for treatment, be a part of the decision-making process, and then relax and know they are receiving the best care.
When she is not in the office, Dr. Macken stays busy with her husband Chris, and their two sons. She is a DIY-er at home and enjoys crafting and painting…including some of the art in the office! Whenever they can, they love to travel around the country to visit their friends and family. They also spend their free time enjoying local parks, the National Whitewater Center, and on the baseball or soccer field cheering on the boys!
